The normal walk is from Tintagel to Port Isaac but David L was not yet fully recovered and was concerned about whether he was up to the severe element from Trebarwith Strand to Port Gaverne. Therefore the 3 walkers walked from Tintagel to Trebarwith Strand where Fiona was waiting to drive us on to Port Gaverne.

The view back to Tintagel gave us the best view of the new bridge ...

At Trebarwith Strand, whilst we had morning coffee, Justine sprinted up and down the first hill on the way towards Port Isaac and certainly David L felt guilty that she wouldn't have the opportunity to complete the exact route to Port Isaac. However, it was not to be as Fiona then drove us to Port Gaverne where we rejoined the coast path route into Port Isaac.

Worth noting here that Cornwall County Council had removed all financial support for the maintenance of public toilets and therefore access to them was only possible on payment of 20p - cash only!

Leaving Port Isaac there are two alternative routes to Port Quin namely, along the coastal path or an easier inland path. Again, the two Davids chose the inland path whilst Justine walked the coastal path which she concluded at the end wasn't as severe as expected.

We all eventually ended up in Port Quin despite communications being difficult as there was absolutely no phone signal!, without climbing up to the top of the nearest hill. Note also that there are no toilet facilities in Port Quin.

So, job done, but not as we all would have wanted. Hopefully we will all be better tomorrow for our final walk in beautiful Cornwall.

We had our first and last daytime rain of the day but at least we weren't walking by then.
