Today was a day off from walking the SWCP as we had arranged to meet Justine's parents, Anne and Ernie, who were travelling down from Bristol to St Just to stay with friends for a couple of days.
The original plan was to walk across to St Michael's Mount on the causeway but it was discovered that as St Michael's Mount is owned by the NT it was timed entry only and was free to NT members but £14 otherwise. As the weather was very mixed anyway we decide to sack that and just go for lunch at the Godolfin Hotel.
The lunch was fine and the company was even better so we all went our ways mid-afternoon but not before we had bought some pasties for our tea and also ice creams to eat on the way back to the car. Unfortunately, all of a sudden there was a rush of air and a seagull completely demolished and made off with DavidL's ice cream!
By this time the weather was quite gloomy making St Michael's Mount look even gloomier ...

As we had time, we diverted on the way home to Porthallow which is the official mid-point of the SWCP so that photos could be taken for those who had not been there before ...

The above picture shows the reverse side of the Stone which has a 'poem' depicting the past and present of Porthallow as seen through the eyes and memories of the locals.
Finally, we made our way back to Lighthouse Cottage which took ages due to very heavy traffic around Truro.
